Gratitude -

Day 5 in the hospital is ending and I have a lot to be thankful for.

Considering where things were Friday morning, the outcome we have now is the best one possible. Hudson is healthy and still where he needs to be. The placenta and uterus are healing which is good news for my health as well.

My mom had her last day of school on Friday so has been able to be here with us the whole time. She has gone to the store to get us anything we need, like my Grandma Helen nightgowns that are so much more comfortable than the hospital gowns. I now have it in three colors: purple, blue and teal. Grandma would approve. I know it is a sacrifice for her to be over here during her summer vacation but it is VERY appreciated.

Dad drove over here late Saturday night after working all day. He got here around 10pm then went to the hotel with my mom around 11pm and drove back home at 330am. Not much sleep for him! Travis and I were both grateful he made the time and effort to come see us (not to mention bring some of Chayo's food!), though it was my mom who was watching out the window for him like a school girl. I knew the past 48 hours hadn't been easy for her either so of course she was ready to have her husband with her. It was cute to see.

Marissa, Whitni, Rock and Ryker came over yesterday and were the awesome entertainment for us. Whitni painted my toenails, or as Rock calls them nailtoes so they are looking better now and they just overall took care of me while here. DeAndra made the 3 hour drive today with Jensley and it was wonderful to see both of them too. Mom was extra excited to have her little granddaughter where she could get ahold of her. They all headed back tonight.

I have a nurse that keeps telling me I need to order the milkshakes and spoil myself while I'm in here. What else could I ask for?

We had our ultrasound yesterday and it went well. That's where we learned things are healing and Hudson is growing. When the ultrasound showed he was measuring on the low side of average weight Travis said, "So why are you measuring so big Lindsea?" He didn't score any points with that one! The doctor saved Travis by saying that since he was sitting sideways in my belly with his feet in front of his face it makes it bigger. If he would go completely head down or up he would have more room but he insists on being squished. Oh, and he has adorable lips and some hair. It was so fun to see those details on the ultrasound! I wish we got some pictures to show but you will all get the real thing to see in about a month or so.

Since the ultrasound went well and the bleeding has stopped, we will get discharged after 2 more days of nothing happening on the understanding that we stay in Spokane and still come in to get monitored. Chelan isn't ready to deal with a baby as young as Hudson yet. So my Aunt Mary and Uncle Dan offered to let us stay at their house for the 2 1/2 weeks before heading back to Manson. That is a huge blessing for us and hopefully they don't get too tired of us in that time.

Travis had to go back to work today,  but with the bills that we are accumulating, that is a good thing. He is 3 hours away in Chelan until Saturday night when he'll come see me for the weekend and I already miss him. I'm grateful for a husband that's willing to provide for us. Going through this with him makes me see sides of him he doesn't usually let people see, and it makes me love him even more.  He's a good, strong daddy already and Hudson is blessed to have him.

There is a lot more to be thankful for but it is time to get monitored. Another thing to be thankful for- baby's heartbeat!
