Cahokia Mounds

Sunday afternoon we went to a historical site called Cahokia Mounds to wear the kids out for naptime. They have quite a long and interesting story going back to 700 A.D. Check it out here.

This is called Woodhenge and was used as a solar calendar. Check it out here.
I don't know how many flights of stairs there were to the top, but I was grateful for the daily workouts I've been putting in. It helped. A lot.
The view from the top surprised me. I wasn't expecting to see the St. Louis skyline.
The kids loved the freedom of exploring (within reason) and the warmer day we had to enjoy.
She copied the speedwalking of the older ladies there quite well.

  2. Looks like Travis should be counting extra steps, packing Kass up those stairs. So they built the mounds 700 years ago to see St. Louis? They were a group of planners. So why no pix of Huddy standing on top of something he wasn't suppose to???
