All systems go and ready for launch...

Ever watched the space shuttle countdown? Remember how there's all these things they have to do, and they      keep pausing the clock to do them? That's pretty much life around the Volle household nowadays. STILL waiting for little Hudson's dramatic entry into the world. We're trying to keep busy in the meantime, to convince ourselves that we're ok with all the waiting. For those of you keeping track, we've got about 2 weeks left to go.
Here's a pic of the wife:
Isn't she lovely??

Lindsea finally made it back over from her vacation in Spokane. We were blessed to have her uncle and aunt, Dan and Mary, open their home to Lindsea for the few weeks she had to be over there. Little Hudson finally figured out to put his head down, which relieved all as we didn't really want to do a C-section if we didn't have to. Lindsea's had no issues with any further abruption of her placenta. Our main concern for awhile was actually how much that little adventure was going to cost us. We really had no idea how much that was going to cost us. When we got the first bill, for the ground transportation only!!, I almost joined my wife and unborn child in adding to the medical bills. $2,000 JUST to drive an ambulance probably a total of 5 miles. You can imagine what the actual hospital bills might be coming to. There was a lot of praying, and we continued to pay our tithing. We knew that as long as we continued to do that, we would be able to overcome that obstacle. A coupe weeks after Lindsea's Very Expensive Ride, a nurse that works at the clinic we visit for doctor's visits came in to where I work. Apparently she used to work at Campbells. We realized we looked familiar to each other and quickly figured it out. She asked how Lindsea was doing and my reply was "Fine, but the bills are starting to come in, ha ha." She then began to ask me questions and come to find out, there's some WA state fund thingy that is for pregnant women. I'm all like "AWESOME!!" Word. She offers to fill out the paperwork for me, has me bring in some other stuff and sends it off for me. Here's your testimony of the day kids: PAY YOUR TITHING. This state fund not only pays towards our medical bills, it pays everything our current insurance doesn't. That's right, everything. Fervent prayers all around.

A couple weeks ago was my 34th birthday. I traded in my old Iphone 4 for a new Iphone 4s, which cost me nothing thanks to an awesome deal Best Buy has. I immediately called my sister Sarah and commanded her to do the same. I have included her FB status as proof that she is my minion.

I was also fortunate enough to get a 3 day weekend for my bday, and got to go with much of the England Clan over to Seattle where Mama Rae had purchased some tickets to a Broadway touring production of "Les Mis". I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. It's rare that I actually get to go to a play, and the only other Broadway-level production I've been to was Wicked. Good show too :). I'm always fascinated in the behind the scenes work of movies and plays. It's pretty much a whole other movie just getting it all together. The creative and technical know how to pull of these things is fun to watch and learn about.
Absolutely no one took any pictures of the entire weekend over there, otherwise I'd post some.

I also used a bday gift and got myself a bday gift at Best Buy. People have complained the my Skyrim playing has impinged on their sleep (not naming names but they start with an L and end with "my wife").
So I bought some super awesome earphones which allow me listen and interact with the game while other people ask, "Who's he talking to?" Here is a link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Turtle+Beach+-+Ear+Force+X12+Gaming+Headset+for+Xbox+360/3302112.p?id=1218394225104&skuId=3302112&st=turtle%20beach%20ear%20force&cp=1&lp=1
and here is a stock photo

.
I'm not allowed to post a picture of me wearing them, as my wife will be afraid to show her face in public.
Random definition of irony: A super pregnant wife being afraid to show her face in public over some ear apparel her husband wears. Sign #45 you might play too much Skyrim: You see a bunch of Lavender on the side of the road, and want to add it to your inventory.

There's a board up at work where people guess what day Hudson will finally poke his head out:

So far, he's disappointed a few people. I posted a FB status on my thoughts:

1 1/2 years ago, my eternal companion Lindsea Volle and I began our infinite journey together. 14 years ago, a young Elder Volle entered the Missionary Training Center bound for West Virginia. 22 years ago, a little boy named Travis received the Aaronic Priesthood and was ordained a Deacon. And 80 years ago, a baby named James Edward Cattell (my maternal grandfather) was born. Seems like today would be a good day for Hudson Dale Volle to make his grand entrance too, ha ha. Unless he wants to be ornery, like his mother...

Let the record state that it is now 2200 hours on Sunday evening, July 15th; and I think it's safe to say Hudson is ornery, like his mother....

Speaking of mothers, my Mom sent me a package with a bunch of stuff from when I was a baby, which included the actual, vintage, still in good shape; outfit I wore home from the hospital those many decades ago. I thought it would be cool to bring my first born son home in the same outfit his daddy came home in. Because I'm sentimental like that. Here's a pic:

So anyways, I hope this blog has caught you up on some of the goings on around the Volle household. At the very least, it's taken up a couple hours of time and helped me deal with the disappointment that my boy ain't here yet. I already know 2 things about him: He's ornery like his momma, and late, like his dad. Sounds like I'd better get used to waiting on him :)

  1. Excellent news about the bills being covered! Thank goodness Heavenly Father lets us pay tithing. :) I am sure Hudson is going to be adorable, whenever he decides to make his grand entrance.

  2. Best wishes with the wait. I never made it past 37 weeks... And, thank heavens for a functional state/federal government that collects taxes in order to make social programs like this possible to keep mothers and babies safe and out of the poor house. We can all use that safety net at times.
