Disneyland!!

There were some plane tickets that were going to expire before they could be used by Travis' sister and a couple of Disney Park tickets that we had that would have expired this month, so what else could we do but go to Disneyland??
Since I was 6 months pregnant at the time I wasn't able to go on many rides so we found a lot of fun walking and sightseeing stuff to do. Did you know that you could walk through the castle??? I didn't and when I noticed a door off to the left and not very flashy, I knew it had to be something good. It takes you on a self-guided walking tour of the Sleeping Beauty story (it is her castle after all) and the animations and graphics were awesome. Towards the end where the prince is fighting the dragon you walk around a corner and a shadow of Malificent comes at you. I would have screamed if I was by myself. Thankfully little children enjoying the magic of Disneyland didn't have to witness me running out of the castle screaming and crying.

We were able to watch World of Color at California Adventure. Being hot we decided the front row viewing was for us, water zone and all. It was fantastic!
So there is this club at Disneyland that I never knew about. Travis started talking about it a year ago so I googled it. Apparently Walt Disney wanted a place for dignitaries, celebrities, etc to rest during their day, and lets face it- escape to, while still enjoying the Disney magic. This is a very upscale and pricey club. You have to pay about 25,000 initially and then 10,000 every year just to be a part of this super exclusive club. And even at that price, there is a 14 year waiting list to be a member. Well enough about the price, Travis' mission friend's family has a membership and were awesome enough to offer us a chance to go.... So we did!
I was assuming it would be one of those fancy places where you left hungry, but it was not one of those places (which made this hungry, pregnant lady very happy). The plate in front of Travis is for decoration only. As soon as we ordered our main courses (you have about 5 to choose from), they were whisked away and we were told to visit the "salad bar" for any appetizers we wanted. There was fresh fruit, vegetables, various green salads, shrimp, crab, etc to choose from. The thing that amazed me was even though there were a couple other tables there, everything looked like it had never been touched. Magical. After that buffet we got our main course. Travis got salmon and some other stuff I can't remember because my chicken over macaroni and cheese was the best I've ever had in my life. It was so delicious I had to eat it one noodle at a time to make it last. Travis loves me so asked the waiter what kind of cheese was in it. Now, if I ever have a desire to gain 30 pounds in a day, I'll sit around and figure the recipe out. The last course was a dessert buffet. How can you not love a dessert buffet at such an upscale place like Club 33? I will dream of it for years.
Yes I look like I'm hunching over because I am. My belly and everything else that has grown has made it hard to take a picture with my husband where I'm not 5 feet away from him. So not my favorite picture, but it's in a wonderful place!

Outside Club 33 there is no sign other than an address sign to let anyone not-in-the-know know about the Club. There is a buzzer to let the host inside know you are there for your meal (we found out from our host that every time it buzzes the waitstaff go look out the upstairs window to see who is at the door because they get celebrities, etc. daily. I guess it's the only time they can actually gawk and not get in trouble since they can't be seen). Once inside they take you upstairs in an old French lift. The atmosphere is amazing and filled with real Disney memorabilia, like Walt's wife's butterfly collection and original drawings. We were able to roam around and see the different rooms upstairs and yes, the only picture I took on my phone was of the toilet. It looked like a throne. Literally. It was a once in a lifetime experience which made it sad to leave. Thank you to Conrad for hooking us up with lunch and making my husband oh so very happy!
