Settling In

Rather than trying to catch up on the past 3 weeks, I decided to show a little of what we've been working on (sorry Mom, it's not a baby), and catch up on wedding stuff as we go. It was wonderful to receive the support of friends and family. With their help we have been able to set up house.
I LOVE setting up house and Travis has some helpful ideas too. So far we've set up the dining room table and chairs. We also bought a mirror for above the table. The decorations are being moved around until I find a place I think they fit best.... and then I'll come up with a different arrangement I'm sure. We are also in a holding pattern for our wedding pictures, so the walls are a little bare but we're working on it.

Next is the Kitchen-Aid!! This is one wedding gift (thanks to the Bed Bath & Beyond gift cards) that is going to keep on giving yummy treats for years. I was tracking this delivery like an OCD mama, every 5 minutes.

It is a Kitchen-Aid Pro Series 600 Stand Mixer. The 6 quart bowl and 600 series was more than we were planning on getting, but since ours wasn't in the store and we had to pay for shipping anyway, we got the beast of a mixer. So of course I had to try it out with my mom's chocolate chip cookie recipe! Oh, they are some good cookies. Wish ya'll were here to try some :).
We also got a media center, but since we have company on the couch this week and I don't think they would appreciate being in the pictures, I'll save those pictures for next time.
Life is good. We're happy. Hope you all are too! (If not, chocolate chip cookies help out a lot!)

  5. How fun! I had to wait until year 13 or 14 of married life for my red kitchen-aid... of course, that is about how long it took me to learn how to cook, haha. :)

  6. Happy Mixing Lindz! My mixer has been good to me, just don't grind wheat with it...
Love the table and chairs though!
